Fitting instructions for the Joey Safe and FreedomRide Child Safety Harness

The FreedomRideTMChild Safety Harness is certified for use in motor vehicles.

   WARNING
Failure to follow all relevant instructions as listed, can result in your child striking the vehicle's interior during a sudden stop or impact.

   IMPORTANT
The FreedomRideTM Child Safety Harness is designed to be used in any motor vehicle whose seats have factory installed seat belts of either the Lap or Shoulder/Lap combination design.

   CAUTION
Some vehicles have seat belts that do not stay tight during normal driving, especially those of the Shoulder/Lap design (please refer to your vehicle's owners' manual for additional information). If you use these type of belts with your FreedomRideTM Child Safety Harness, please use the locking clip provided with the harness and follow the instructions in Step #10 (of these instructions).

While the FreedomRideTM Child Safety Harness is designed to be used in all seated motor vehicles that have factory installed seat belts, you should be aware that, according to accident statistics, children are safer when properly restrained in the rear seating positions than in the front seating positions. The safest position in a motor vehicle is in the center of the rear seat.

The FreedomRideTM Child Safety Harness is designed to be used in a forward facing sitting position. Place the child safety harness on your child before restraining he or she in a motor vehicle or seat.

Adjust all belts that have been provided with the FreedomRide TM Child Safety Harness firmly around your child.

Be sure that all the child safety harness belts are adjusted snugly as described in the following instructions. Failure to follow these instructions can result in the case of the belts being too tight , possible discomfort to your child, or in the case of being too loose, serious injury to your child in the event of a sudden stop or impact of the vehicle.

When securing the child in the vehicle be sure that the seat is securely locked in place and that the seat is back in it's full upright position.

The child safety harness is designed so that the child must be placed in the vehicle seat in a sitting position with the buttocks and back restrained firmly against the seat and seat back , by the use of the factory installed seat belts in a manner described in Step #8 (of these instructions).

WARNING! Do not restrain the child in a standing or kneeling position . Do not use the FreedomRide TM Child Safety Harness with any other child restraint device or booster seat.

Do not install more than one child safety harness for each factory installed vehicle seat belt.

When your FreedomRideTM Child Safety Harness is not being used, it can be stored in the trunk of your vehicle or secure the harness in the vehicle with a seat belt, for your immediate use as required.

Child restraints could be recalled for safety reasons. When you purchase your FreedomRideTM Safety Harness, your contact information is autmatically placed in the database of owners of the Child Safety Harnes.
