If you have a toddler, who hates sitting in a child car seat, Would you want to be stuck in an unchangeable position every time you’re in the car?
When an adult, sits in a car for any length of time, we stretch, we change the position of our butt, we move our legs, and shift constantly. And we do this automatically, and without thinking. But kids in a traditional car seat can’t do this. They are stuck in one position, and they can’t move. We move because the circulation of blood needs to be restored in our legs, and lower extremities as we sit in the same position for any extended length of time. So imagine what your child feels?
In a traditional car seat, the child can't move and relieve the pain, so they start to get irritated, and it puts them in a bad mood (same as adults). The FreedomRide lets them have a little freedom, and still be safe. The 5-Point Harness gives them additional safety over a traditional child car seat. I am the Webmaster for a webdesign company, and when JoeySafe asked us to redo their web site, I was intrigued by the harness system. That is because I have two small children, both girls, ages 3 & 4 and we obviously, use car seats. I lived in Southern California, and every couple of months, my wife, the girls and I, go see grandma who lives in Nevada. It’s a 5 1/2 hour drive, so it can get hectic after awhile (even with a dvd player playing a movie). But, I noticed that the kids stayed in better moods after a few hours when we had them in the FreedomRide Harness, rather then the car seats, and I realized it was because they could not adjust themselves, in the car seat when they got uncomfortable. So now, when I put them in the FreedomRide, I make sure they are secure in the harness, and that the seatbelt is securely fastened to the FreedomRide. Our trips are so much better now, especially, since there is more room in the car without the car seats. And I did not have to carry two big plastic car seats back and forth to the car every time the kids go with us. It takes less time to use the FreedomRide, than it does the car seat. The FreedomRide really did make it easier to go on trips. About the only thing you need when you use the Joeysafe instead of your old child car seat is a pillow (let the kids rest their head (like an adult) while sleeping). Besides, my kids want to take a pillow anyway! (trust me, I know. We can’t go anywhere without the "Snow White", and "SpongBob" pillows) Did you ever try and use a pillow with a child car seat? It can’t be done (not enough room between the child’s head and side of car seat). -Safety- The FreedomRide has been tested and conforms to all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Standards.
